What is the artist prefix?

The prefix is a field that helps to identify the artist stock number. For its creation, the artist's initials are commonly used.

What is the prefix for?

• It identifies the artist, differentiating him/her from the others. It is quite a useful category when doing advanced searches among our artists.
• The artist prefix and the number are used as 'Inventory ID' when creating artworks of that artist.

How do I enter the artist prefix?

• In the 'Artists' module go to: Create/edit artist > Prefix > Number > New artist/Save artist data.

Once you have created the artist prefix, when creating new artwork, the system will suggest you a consecutive inventory ID associated with this ID. For instance, if you have the artist 'Marius Tolle' whose inventory ID is MT, when creating new artwork, the system will suggest 'MT1' as inventory ID.
